This product uses Ni200 industrial pure nickel as a raw material, which is the highest purity commercial pure nickel product in the nickel-based alloy series. The chemical composition of Ni200 strictly follows the ASTM B162 standard, in which the nickel (Ni) content is not less than 99.0%, and the typical value can reach more than 99.5%. The main impurity elements are strictly controlled at extremely low levels: carbon (C) content ≤ 0.15%, manganese (Mn) ≤ 0.35%, iron (Fe) ≤ 0.40%, silicon (Si) ≤ 0.35%, copper (Cu) ≤ 0.25%, and sulfur (S) ≤ 0.01%. This high-purity, low-impurity characteristic ensures the chemical stability of the product in high-temperature melting applications and the accuracy of analysis results and avoids sample contamination caused by the precipitation of impurities in container materials, which is crucial for high-precision analysis experiments and high-end material preparation.


The core advantage of pure nickel cups in melting applications lies in their excellent corrosion resistance to strong alkaline fluxes. As a transition metal with a face-centered cubic crystal structure, nickel can form a dense and stable passivation film of nickel oxide (NiO) or nickel hydroxide (Ni(OH)₂) on its surface in a high-temperature alkaline environment. This protective film effectively prevents alkali metal ions from further corroding the base material. Therefore, Ni200 pure nickel cups are particularly suitable for alkaline flux systems containing sodium hydroxide (NaOH), sodium peroxide (Na₂O₂), sodium carbonate (Na₂CO₃), sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO₃), and potassium nitrate (KNO₃). With its unique alkali corrosion resistance, pure nickel cups have become "professional" containers for handling these "stubborn" alkaline molten materials. They are widely used in alkali fusion digestion of geological samples, ore composition analysis, refractory material testing, and other fields.
In melting applications involving high-purity material analysis or high-end new material preparation, impurity contamination caused by containers is an indicator that must be strictly controlled. Conventional nickel crucibles have low purity (about 99%), and impurities such as iron, cobalt, copper, and chromium contained in them may precipitate during the high-temperature melting process, leading to deviations in analysis results or deterioration of material properties.
Ni200 pure nickel cup has a nickel content of ≥99.5% and extremely low content of key impurity elements (for example, the iron, cobalt, and copper content of high-purity products can be controlled at the 5-20 ppm level). This high-purity feature greatly inhibits the "cross-contamination" of the melt system by the container body, meets the stringent requirements of modern analytical technology and high-end material preparation for trace-level impurity control, and ensures the authenticity of analytical data and the reliability of material performance. In addition, nickel also shows good chemical stability against neutral and weakly reducing atmospheres and most molten salts and oxides, and is not prone to reaction, further ensuring the purity of molten materials.
