WT20 tig welding electrodes product introduction

WT20 thorium tungsten electrode, corresponding to the national standard EWTh-2 and the industry standard red-ended tungsten electrode, is the most classic and highly versatile tungsten welding electrode for DC argon arc welding TIG on the market. It is produced by smelting high-purity tungsten with 1.8%-2.2% thorium dioxide. It undergoes high-precision centerless grinding for precise processing, ensuring uniform dimensions and high concentricity. It complies with international welding standards such as GB/T4191, AWS A5.12, and ISO6848. It is specially developed for DC argon arc welding and is compatible with various brands of argon arc welding guns.

Lifespan Explanation of WT20 Thorium Tungsten Electrode

Based on actual welding conditions in industrial workshops and measured lifespan of standard 2.4mm regular specifications:
1. Conventional intermittent welding (daily spot welding in factories, intermittent operations): Each electrode can last for 60-90 hours. The tip wears slowly and does not require frequent grinding and replacement;

2. Continuous full-load welding (long-term operations of titanium equipment, pressure vessels): Continuous usage time is 35-50 hours. High temperature does not easily ablate and chip the tip;

3. Lifespan comparison: Compared to pure tungsten electrodes, the lifespan is increased by more than 45%. Under the same current conditions, the loss is much lower than zirconium tungsten and ordinary cerium tungsten;

4. Factors affecting lifespan: Suitable for direct current, stable gas volume, no contact with the base material, and proper grinding can maximize the extension of the usage period; Overload high current and frequent tungsten sticking will significantly shorten the lifespan.

Notes for Attention

This product contains trace amounts of oxidized thorium and has a weak radioactivity. When grinding the electrodes, please wear a dust mask to avoid inhaling dust. Routine protection measures are sufficient.
