Chemical composition and standards
Grade brand: zr704 (Compliant with the ASTM R60704 standard ) is a nuclear-level zircalloy, the content of the micro-elements:Sn 1.2-1.7%,Fe 0.18-0.24%,Cr 0.07-0.13%,O≤0.003%.
Purity: 97.5%Zr+Hf(4.5Max)+Tin1.0-2.0+Fe+Cr0.2-0.4--Zr+Hf+Tin+Fe+Cr, the impurities content should strictly controlled to ensure the safety of nuclear application.
Mechanical property
Strength: Tensile Strength: ≥380MPa,Yield Strength: ≥205MPa,Elongation: ≥16%
High-temperature property: Melting point: 1852℃. Stable mechanical property under high-temperature and excellent an-creep deformation.
Decay-resistance
Antacid and alkali resistance: Extremely low corrosion rate in strong acid(hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid etc)environment(10%boiling hydrochloric ≤0.25mm/a), and the property of alkali resistance very close to nickel.
Environmental suitability: High-temperature water proof, suitable for the nuclear key components like cladding.
Application
Nuclear industry: Nuclear reactor cladding, the pressure pipe components of reactor pile.
Chemical equipment: Medium environment with high-temperature and high-pressure causticity ( heat-exchanger, valve etc.)
Processing and welding
Welding procedure: GTAW with argon≥99.99% to ward off the oxide.
Forging performance: Forging ratio≥3:1, grain size with ASTM 7-8,density ≥6.52g/cm³
