Pure Tantalum Special-shaped Stamping Parts

This is a pure tantalum special-shaped structural part that has been precision stamped. The stamping parts are processed from high-purity (≥99.95%) tantalum metal sheets and have a unique "water drop" or "fan-shaped" appearance. There are four mounting/positioning holes at different angles on the edges, and a slightly convex reinforced arc surface in the center. Tantalum material properties and stamping processing difficulties

As a refractory metal, tantalum is extremely ductile and is well suited for chipless forming processes such as bending, stamping, pressing, or deep drawing. Pure tantalum can be rolled into plates, strips, foils, and other forms at room temperature, with a processing rate of more than 90%. However, processing tantalum is not easy. Machining tantalum is extremely difficult because the chips do not break cleanly. In the traditional one-time stamping molding process, it is difficult to align the upper and lower stamping dies, and the accuracy error is large, which can easily lead to one-sided products and difficulty in molding. The pass rate is as low as about 20%. In addition, tantalum plates are prone to cracking, wrinkling, orange peeling, ear-making, and other phenomena during the deep drawing process. The yield is low, and it is difficult to meet the requirements of high performance and high reliability. Because of this, being able to achieve high-precision and high-yield processing in the field of tantalum stamping itself means having profound technical accumulation and process control capabilities.

In terms of special-shaped parts processing, we can not only process unique irregular shapes, but also accurately punch out positioning holes on the edges or curved surfaces of tantalum plates. Through precise mold design and stamping parameter control, the hole size is accurate, and the burrs are extremely small, which saves customers the trouble of secondary drilling and greatly reduces customers' subsequent processing costs and time costs.
